Rebel Rock Racing Expands 2026 IMPC Campaign Following Daytona Victory

Frank DePew and Robin Liddell return to IMSA competition with an eye on a potential run at the 2026 title.

SEBRING, FL – March 18, 2026 – Following an electrifying charge through the field to Victory Lane  at the season-opening BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona International Speedway, Rebel Rock Racing has added Round 2 of the 2026 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, the Alan Jay Automotive Network 120 at Sebring International Raceway, to its competition plans for March.

The decision marks an intriguing shift in the team's initial plans for GT4 competition this season. The team’s original goal was to focus on building up a strong knowledge base in GT3 events in 2026. The decision was made to enter one of the Deland, Florida’s trio of Aston Martin Vantage GT4 EVOs in January’s season opener at a venue that has delivered Rebel Rock Racing almost nothing but heartache over the last decade or so. However, a remarkable charge through the field and subsequent victory at Daytona have prompted a serious internal review of the team's objectives and commitment for the remainder of the season with Robin Liddell and his team refusing to rule out another run at the IMSA Michelin Pilot GS Class Title.

The transitional period in which the team finds itself provides Team Manager, Robin Liddell with  more flexibility than in previous seasons. “It was a pleasant surprise winning at Daytona,” explained the Scotsman.  “We've never done that before and that's obviously a fantastic start of the year. We felt like we needed to try and capitalize on that a little bit and as we are a Florida-based team we said ‘why not’. It's a long year and we're not committed to running the full season at all, but I think a lot will hinge on the result from this race if we have a solid finish in the Top 10 we will be in a solid position in the Championship standings and we will certainly consider running the rest of the IMPC season.”

With so many testing miles under his belt at the central Florida track, Frank DePew is confident about the prospects for Friday’s race. “We are excited about our opportunity to race Sebring in IMPC this year.  It is one of my favorite tracks to drive and Robin and I have enjoyed a lot of success here. The competition in this class is fierce, but we hope to have another good result. Unfortunately, we had a master cylinder issue which caused us to miss Practice 2 but we tested here recently and that should help once we get to qualifying.”

Victory at Daytona was IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge win number nine for the driver pairing of Robin Liddell and Frank DePew. A tenth series victory on Sebring’s unrelenting 3.74 miles of World War Two-era concrete on Friday will certainly go a long way to helping the team decide on whether to have one more crack at that elusive GS Crown. With two wins there in the last five seasons, it certainly cannot be ruled out.

Round 2 of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, The Alan Jay Automotive Network 120, takes place on Friday, March 20th at Sebring International Raceway. The Green Flag drops at 2:00pm ET.
