The team from Deland, Florida is coming off its best result of the season at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca where Depew and Liddell stormed to an excellent second place in their Aston Martin Vantage GT4 EVO.
For the second endurance race of the season, the team welcomes back Andrew Davis as the third driver. Davis, a seasoned endurance racer, has a long-term association with the team and helped deliver victory at the VP Racing Stay Frosty Coolants 240 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in 2020, a home victory for the driver born in Lilburn, Georgia.

The highly technical nature of the 2.258 mile road course at Mid-Ohio has been challenging sportscar racers for more than sixty years and Sunday’s headliner will be no different. Every aspect of the race team’s efforts will be tested from tire management to pit strategy over the four hours and 150 plus laps.
Last month’s podium finish on the Monterey peninsula was the first of the season and the first Top 3 since last season’s remarkable win at Sebring. Sunday’s race may offer the best chance of victory since then. A win would be the ninth since Frank DePew took ownership of the team in 2018 and would further underline the team’s status as the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge team with the most victories in the GS Class.

For team owner Frank DePew there will be the benefit of two VP Racing Sportscar Challenge races providing valuable additional track time across the weekend. “I am really looking forward to Mid-Ohio and it is always a pleasure to have Andrew [Davis] back with us for this event. Running the additional VP Challenge races will give me valuable seat time prior to the four-hour IMPC race. We have not been able to fit in a test there this year so the additional session could be crucial for me. I will focus on running a quick clean stint and handing the car over to Andrew. With the combination of Andrew in the middle stint and then Robin taking the checker, we are in a good position to do well in this race.”

“I think the whole team is looking forward to going racing again this weekend after we had an excellent two day test at Watkins Glen last week," explained Team Manager and Pro Driver, Robin LIddell. “I like the additional two hours of racing in this format and I think it will play to our strengths. We’ve learned a huge amount about our Aston Martin over the last twelve months and I’m quietly confident that we can bring some of that to bear this weekend. Frank has been driving very well this year and also has the benefit of doing the VP Challenge at Mid Ohio. It’s always fun having Andrew back in the team so with a bit of luck hopefully we can continue to build the momentum from last time out at Laguna.”

Despite it being only the fourth round of the 2025 Championship, this will be Andrew Davis’ second and final appearance of the season in the #71 Aston. “I’m very much looking forward to joining my Rebel Rock Racing teammates once again for the second endurance round of the series. Although it’s been a few months since Daytona, I feel up to date and ready for the challenge. I’ve been more involved with the team’s testing program this year, and we’ve made a good deal of progress with the car. We have high expectations going into the event. I can’t wait to get to work!”
